March has been a big month with donations and announcements for our community partners, particularly for those based in the Northern Territory.

Starlight’s Healthier Futures program received a $100,000 boost with the aim to improve health outcomes of children in remote communities. Currently, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander kids have some of the highest levels of preventable diseases in the world.

The Foundation’s Healthier Futures initiative is about breaking down the fear and uncertainty that can prevent children from taking part in vital health checks. When Captain Starlight visits these remote health clinics, kids are more likely to get the check-ups they need.

Also in the Northern Territory, we continued our support of the Stars Foundation with a $100,000 donation, taking our total commitment to the Foundation to over $300,000 so far.

Since 2015, Stars Foundation has worked with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women and girls to close the gap on important health and education outcomes.

The Foundation aims to support and enable young women to make active choices towards realising their full potential, creating better environments for Indigenous communities.

The Tatts Finke Desert Race is an institution in Alice Springs that attracts tourists from around the world and significantly benefits the economy.  This month we announced that we will be fuelling the race as naming rights partner for the 24th year.

During the past two decades, The Lott by Tatts NT has seen Finke evolve from a local community event to a world-class spectacle that embodies the spirit of the Northern Territory. We can’t wait to be involved in 2022.

From dry lands to flooded plains, like much of Australia we watched as the devastating floods destroyed many New South Wales and Queensland communities.

We were proud to be a part of the televised Australia Unites Flood Appeal and donate $500,000 to the Red Cross on behalf of customers, staff, and retailers.

The Red Cross will give 100% of the proceeds to those that need it most. We hope our contribution makes a small difference to the people and communities affected.
