As well as our contributions to State and Territory Governments, Tatts has provided support for charities and community events by providing ongoing financial assistance and joint promotion of special causes.
Last year, Australia's Official Lotteries contributed over $1.1 BILLION to help support community initiatives like hospitals, schools and sporting groups*.
The Lott, through Golden Casket, has a strong history of more than 100 years of supporting children’s health.
Continuing this tradition for the fifth consecutive year, Golden Casket is a Presenting Partner supporting the Channel Nine Telethon. The Channel Nine Telethon is a televised event that aims to raise fund for the Children’s Hospital Foundation Queensland. All money raised goes towards crucial research, patient and family support programs and life-saving equipment for sick children.
We’re proud to have presented a donation of $1.2 million from lottery proceeds, unclaimed prize money and profits at the Telethon on the 17th November 2018.
Today we are continuing our history of child health support as a National Partner of the Starlight Children's Foundation. Starlight brightens the hospital experience for sick kids and teens, replacing fear, pain and stress with fun, joy and laughter.
Every minute of every day a child is admitted to hospital in Australia. With a Starlight Express Room in every major children’s hospital in Australia and more than 150 Captain Starlights nationally, Starlight supports all hospitalised children and their families, regardless of illness, injury or age.
Starlight relies solely on the community to deliver its programs including the Starlight Express Room, Captain Starlight hospital programs and its wish granting program.
We are a continued supporter of Starlight's biggest annual fundraising event, Starlight Day. Every year since 2014, we have contributed a donation for Starlight Day and since 2016 this has been used to brighten the hospital experience for 2,564 sick kids and their families.
As part of its national program, Starlight grants wishes to seriously ill children each year and in 2017, 551 wishes were granted. A once in a lifetime experience and incredible gift of hope during the toughest of times. Starlight Wishes help sick kids and their families dream big and leave the pain of treatment behind.
As a proud supporter of Starlight, we donate four wishes a year to Starlight nationally.
The Lott, through Golden Casket, is donating $1 for every $5 Christmas Wish Instant Scratch-Its ticket sold in Queensland during November to Starlight’s Wishgranting Program.
The donation of up to $100,000 will be funded from Queensland unclaimed prize money.
Golden Casket is a long-standing supporter of the Starlight Children’s Foundation, which grants wishes to seriously ill children each year. These Starlight Wishes are once-in-a-lifetime experiences that give the incredible gift of hope to children and their families during the toughest of times.
Instant Scratch-Its is on a mission to Share the Joy this Christmas and surprised Australian not-for-profit organisation Feel the Magic with a $10,000 donation.
Feel the Magic offers education, support and tools to young Australians who have lost a parent, guardian and carer, empowering them to reach their full potential in spite of their loss.
Instant Scratch-Its’ donation will allow Feel the Magic to expand Australia’s largest grief education and support program, Camp Magic.
The Lott, through Golden Casket, has donated $500,000 to drought relief efforts.
The donation, funded from unclaimed prize money, was made by on Saturday 1 September 2018 by Tabcorp Lotteries & Keno Managing Director Sue van der Merwe during Channel 7’s live Drought Appeal.
It matches a previous separate donation of $500,000 by the Lott’s parent company, Tabcorp, to help drought-affected farmers across Queensland and New South Wales.
For more than 100 years, Golden Casket has been supporting the communities in which it operates.
The donation to the Queensland Government’s Queensland Drought Appeal recognises the impact the ongoing drought is having on rural communities.
