A hardworking Marcoola woman is ready to share the love and share the $150,000 top prize she won on a $10 Instant Scratch-Its ticket with her family and friends.

The generous winner won on an Instant Scratch-Its ticket she purchased at The Mudjumba Store, 23 The Esplanade, Mudjimba Beach.

Speaking to a Golden Casket official this week to confirm her prize, the woman recounted the moment she discovered she was instantly $150,000 richer.

“How good is that!” she laughed.

“I’d bought this ticket for myself and I was sitting on my back veranda, scratching away, and I said ‘I’ve got a big one here’.

“I said a few other things as well, but you probably can’t repeat that.

“I never in my life thought I’d win that top prize.  Everyone where I work is out buying Instant Scratch-Its now – they think it’s their turn to win.”

While she had always thought she’d buy her dream car if she ever won a top prize, the winner explained that now her instant windfall was in her bank account she wanted to share it with her nearest and dearest.

“Just share it among my family and friends – share it around mate and hopefully invest what’s left,” she said.

“I’m giving my children some money – one of them has been saving feverishly for a home.  I’m getting my mum’s kitchen renovated for her, and I’m doing some renos on my house – just finishing my house off after 30 years!”

The Mudjumba Store owner Kirsty Stassen said she was thrilled her outlet had sold its first top prize winning Instant Scratch-Its ticket under new management.

“We’ve only been here 6 months! What a great win – it’s very exciting,” she said. “I can spread the word that we’ve had a big win in the area.

“It’s always really nice to see people win.”

Last financial year, there were 144 Instant Scratch-Its top prize winners across the Lott jurisdictions who collectively took home more than $12 million.

It can happen in an instant. It could happen to you.
