A hard working man from Mawson is happily planning an early retirement after this afternoon discovering he won $100,000 in the latest Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot draw.

The happy winner won the guaranteed 1st Prize of $100,000 in Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot draw 10264, drawn on Wednesday 2 January 2019.

Speaking with us today to confirm his prize, the Mawson man couldn’t quite grasp the news of his win, thinking at first, the life-changing call was actually a prank.

“This is not a prank call is it? Are you sure?,” he queried.

“Oh wow! Thank you so much!

“This knocks my socks off!

“I am very surprised. You caught me with my pants down, so to speak – it is completely unexpected!

“I have been playing Lucky Lotteries for 24 years. The most I have ever won is about $400! So this is certainly new territory for me.

“It is excellent news. I can’t wait to actually tell someone about it.”

When asked how he planned to spend his prize, the Canberra man said he did have some initial ideas.

“I am going to put it towards my retirement. It will mean I can retire sooner than I planned,” he exclaimed.

“I am going to sit on it and have a little think. I want to make sure I use it wisely.

“Some will be shared with my family as well. I am ecstatic!”

The man, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his winning entry of five random numbers at Southlands Newsagency, Shop 6, Southlands Shopping Centre, 1 Mawson Place, Mawson.

Southlands Newsagency owner Greg Gow said his outlet was thrilled to have sold a 1st Prize winning ticket.

“It is fantastic for the store and for the customer,” he said.

“We are thrilled for him! What a great way to enter 2019!

“We were due for another win. Hopefully this is the start of some more big wins for the store and our customers.”
