A Bairnsdale man who bought his entry into last Saturday’s $20 million TattsLotto Superdraw on a whim is still scrambling to make sense of the news he is a millionaire after winning division one.

The happy winner held one of 14 division one winning entries in Saturday’s $20 million TattsLotto Superdraw draw 3841 on 12 May 2018. Each entry took home a division one prize of $1,428,571.43.

The winning entry was not registered to a Tatts Card which means Tatts officials had no way of contacting the winner to break the life changing news and had to wait for him to come forward to confirm his prize.

“That is awesome!” he exclaimed when speaking with a Tatts official this morning to confirm the win.

“I just randomly checked it last night as I forgot I had a ticket. I checked on the website and saw the numbers and then had a couple of drinks to calm down.

“I don’t play it that often but I was just walking down the street and walked past the TattsLotto place and thought to myself ‘I might grab a ticket’.

“I’ve been daydreaming about winning for years but now it’s actually happened.”

When asked how it felt to be a millionaire, the winner revealed the fact still hadn’t sunk in.

“I’m not sure yet! I have no idea what I’m going to do with it,” he laughed.

“I’ll probably give some to my family, invest a bit and maybe go a little bit silly on some, but I’m not sure how yet!”

The happy winner who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his 50-game Quickpick entry at Bairnsdale Lotto, 2 Bailey Street, Bairnsdale

Anthony Scott, owner of Bairnsdale Lotto, said he was thrilled to have sold another division one winning entry.

“It’s been great! We sold our last division one winning entry four years ago so it’s great to have another one,” he said.

“The news of the win has brought a bit of a spark to the place and we’ve been encouraging all of our customers to check their tickets to see if it is them.

“We are so pleased the winner has come forward to claim their prize and they can start to enjoy their win!”

The six winning numbers in Saturday Lotto draw 3841 on Saturday 12 May 2018 were 12, 17, 38, 31, 6 and 14.  The supplementary numbers were 34 and 32.

Across Australia there were 14 division one winning entries in Saturday Lotto draw 3841 – seven from Victoria, three from New South Wales, and one each from Queensland, South Australia, the Northern Territory and Western Australia.

Of the 14 division one winning entries, four were held by syndicates.

The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 372 so far this financial year, including 139 won by Tatts customers.
