A Mount Waverley couple are in complete shock after this morning discovering they’re now newly-minted millionaires from winning division one in the weekend’s TattsLotto draw.

The Melbourne residents held one of the three division one winning entries nationally in TattsLotto draw 3927, drawn Saturday 9 March 2019.

Each entry takes home a division one prize of $1,316,406.07. As well as winning the coveted division one prize, the couple also won division six, bolstering their total prize to $1,316,422.12.

When we broke the news to the couple this morning, there was a moment of silent disbelief before the husband declared his shock.

“What!? What! No way!” the husband exclaimed.

“This isn’t a prank call, is it? You’re kidding me!”

The happy winner couldn’t wait to share the news with his wife but after he announced their new millionaire status she shared his initial scepticism.

“No! This is true? I’m in complete disbelief!” she added.

Once the news had sunk in, the husband admitted the out-of-the-blue phone call had completed transformed his day, week and year.

“It feels pretty good!” he said of hearing the life-altering news.

“I had no idea I had won! I usually go in and buy my tickets on a Saturday and then check the old ones when I am there.

“If I have won something – that’s great! If not, I’ll buy another.

“I wouldn’t have known for a week if you hadn’t called me. I’m glad it’s a public holiday today otherwise I would have been at work!”

The thrilled husband admitted he had never thought about how he would spend his division one prize if he was ever to win.

“That’s a very good question! You always hope you are going to win. You are wishful and hopeful but you always think you will never win,” he explained.

“We’ll have to think about it as there are a few things we could do with it!”

The winning duo, who wish to remain anonymous, purchased their winning 36-game QuickPick entry at Pinewood Authorised Newsagency, Pinewood Shopping Centre, 59 Centreway, Mount Waverley.

Pinewood Authorised Newsagency owner Dennis Skantzos said he was thrilled to hear his outlet had sold another division one winning entry.

“We are so happy for our customer!” he said.

“We sold a share in a division one winning syndicate last year, but it’s been a few years since we’ve sold a division one winning entry to a customer so we are pretty excited.

“Congratulations to the couple, we wish them all the best with their win!”
