A long-running Carrum family syndicate is planning to celebrate winning a division one prize of over $400,000 by splashing out on fish and chips – their favourite meal.

The private family syndicate held one of the ten division one winning entries nationally in TattsLotto draw 3919, drawn Saturday 9 February 2019. Each entry takes home a division one prize of $405,890.35.

Speaking with us this morning, the syndicate leader revealed they had no idea they had won the division one prize in Saturday’s TattsLotto draw.

“Oh, oh, okay. Oh my god, wow,” she laughed.

“Oh my god, I thought we won $20. When I went in and checked my Tatts card they said I had a win on there, but I didn’t have the ticket.

“I definitely didn’t think we won division one! I did not have a clue.

“I don’t really know how I feel. I feel confused! Weird! It doesn’t feel real.

“I am feeling very shocked actually.”

The syndicate leader admitted that despite the syndicate enjoying regular small wins, they never expected to win division one.

“We are lucky. We always win something,” she explained.

“We have won a couple of thousand before.

“We usually win on every game we play and use the prize to buy the next week’s tickets. We have won five weeks in a row.

“But division one, that’s something else!

“I feel very lucky. I am very excited and I know they will be too!”

When asked how the Carrum family planned to spend their win, the syndicate leader said it would be shared with all those in the family – even those not included in the syndicate.

“We will share it with the family. We have a pretty big family, so we will give a little to each of them,” she exclaimed.

“It’s so exciting! I can’t wait to tell my siblings. As soon as I get off the phone I am calling them to break the news!

“We will have a big celebration with the family.

“We aren’t party people, but we will go out for dinner and have something we love. Fish and chips probably! We love fish and chips!”

The syndicate leader, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased the winning entry at Patterson Lakes Pharmacy, Shop 7, Lakeview Shopping Centre, Thompson Road, Patterson Lakes.

Patterson Lakes Pharmacy owner Yvonne Chu said she was thrilled the private family syndicate had been united with their prize.

“We are so happy the winner has come forward,” she said.

“It’s fabulous to know it’s a local family from the area.

“We hope they enjoy their prize and we wish them all the best.

“We can’t wait to have more big wins in store!”
