Twenty-four hours after discovering their division one fortune, a North Sydney couple say they’re still shaking and coming to terms with their life-changing lottery win. 

The New South Wales players held one of the seven division one winning entries across Australia in Saturday Lotto draw 4039 on Saturday 4 April 2020. Each entry won a division one prize of $613,016.67. 

Confirming their win with us this morning, the winning woman described how the life-changing event unfolded. 

“I’m still shaking!” she laughed. 

“It’s so exciting! I still can’t believe it. 

“I’m still in shock. 

“My husband went to the paper shop yesterday and called me to tell me to get down there! 

“When I got there, they told us that we had won division one! 

“We couldn’t believe it of course. 

“We’ve been playing for many, many years!” 

When asked how they’d enjoy their division one fortune, the couple said they were already relishing the feeling of financial freedom. 

“I’ve always said if we ever win Lotto, I just would love it to be enough to cover the mortgage, and this does!” the woman exclaimed. 

“We can’t wait to pay the entire mortgage off and be done! 

“We’re both retired and now we will really be able to enjoy our retirement without having to worry about money. 

“It’s terrific, absolutely terrific. It takes all the financial pressure off!” 

The winning entry was purchased at North Narrabeen Newsagency, Shop 3, 1 Powderworks Road, North Narrabeen.
