A Rosebud retiree was adamant she had missed winning division one in the weekend’s TattsLotto draw by one number – until we called her this morning and asked her to re-check her ticket.

The Mornington Peninsula woman in her 60s held one of the seven division one winning entries nationally in TattsLotto draw 3937, drawn Saturday 13 April 2019. Each winner takes home a division one prize of $574,330.46.

When we made contact with the woman this morning, she initially refused to believe she had won division one.

“I checked my ticket on the internet yesterday. I was just one number off getting division one – I was spewing!” she declared.

“I don’t think it was me. I don’t believe you,” she added when we tried to convince her of her good fortune.

But when she re-checked her entry, the enormity of her win became apparent.

“Oh sh**! I have won! Oh f***!  Oh sorry!” she screamed.

“You’re kidding me! I have to grab my husband – I don’t know where he is.

“I checked that ticket, but must have only checked the top lines.“

They’re family birthdates and some of them are numbers my mother-in-law used to use. So they’re very much family numbers.

“Oh Jesus Christ! I didn’t think this was ever going to happen.”

When asked what she might do with her TattsLotto prize, the woman quickly joked: “I’m leaving town!”.

“There’s definitely a cruise on the horizon for us,” she added.

The winner purchased her 12-game marked entry at Rosebud Plaza Lotto, Rosebud Plaza Shopping Centre, McCombe Street, Rosebud.
