A syndicate of humble workmates are still fronting up to work today despite winning $3.9 million in the weekend’s TattsLotto draw.

The private syndicate held the only division one winning entry nationally in TattsLotto draw 3959, drawn Saturday 29 June 2019. This entry takes home the entire division one prize of $3,897,900.02.

As well as winning the coveted division one prize, the syndicate’s System 8 marked entry scored them division three 12 times and division four 15 times, bolstering their total prize to $3,911.713.82.

Speaking with us this morning, the syndicate leader confessed he had been excited since he discovered the win yesterday.

“It’s just fantastic! Thank you! That’s awesome!” he exclaimed happily.

“I’ve been so excited all day. I checked the ticket yesterday afternoon and I saw we had won. I thought ‘you beauty! What a ripper!’.

“I’m so excited I don’t know what to say or do!

“Me and a few of the other blokes at work have been playing these same numbers for years.

“Everyone is so happy! There were a lot of great phone calls yesterday afternoon.
“None of them believed me straight off and one we had to pick up off the floor!”

When asked how he planned to enjoy his share of the windfall, the happy man confessed retirement wasn’t on the cards.

“The win couldn’t have come at a better time,” he declared.

“There a lot of things going on in my life at the moment so it will certainly be put to good use.

“I’m not sure what I’ll do with my share. I haven’t thought that far ahead. I think the most important thing to do is think about it for a while.

“I don’t think I’ll worry too much about giving up work. When we were chatting about it yesterday afternoon most of us said we are going to keep working.

“We enjoy our work and we’ve got a good bunch of workmates so why wouldn’t we?”

The thrilled syndicate leader, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased the syndicate’s System 8 marked entry at Sanctuary Lakes Lucky Lotto, Kiosk 1 Sanctuary Lakes Shopping Centre, 300 Point Cook Road, Point Cook.

Sanctuary Lakes Lucky Lotto owner Aubrey Matthee said he was thrilled his outlet had sold a division one winning entry.

“We are over the moon!” he exclaimed.

“Not only did our store sell a division one winning entry but we were the only one to do so on Saturday!

“We’ll be telling all of our customers about the news as well as decorating the store to create even more excitement.

“Our customers are always joking that we’ll sell the next division one winning entry and now it has finally happened.

“This is the first division one winning entry we’ve sold since taking over the store in March 2018.

“Congratulations to our winner! Selling the dream motivates us to come to work every day.

“We hope it changes their lives in many ways!”
