Last Friday night, Brisbane City Hall was immersed in the magic of Christmas with the launch of this year's The Lott by Golden Casket City Hall Lights.

Surrounded by Brisbane locals, The Lott by Golden Casket CEO and Managing Director, Sue Van der Merwe, alongside Brisbane Lord Mayor Cr Vicki Howard, officially switched on the lights at City Hall.

This year marked the 12th anniversary of The Lott by Golden Casket's continued support of the event.

"Christmas is a time for families to come together, and there’s a deep sense of joy in being part of something that unites people," Van de Merwe said.

“We extend our warmest wishes to all our customers and their families for a merry Christmas and a safe, joyful holiday season."

This year, the 6-minute show, written by local Brisbane-based author Rebecca Sheraton, is titled Santas SOS: A Christmas rescue.

The vibrant display that is beaming onto Brisbane City Hall is free and invites you on a magical adventure as Santa's sleigh crash-lands in Brisbane.

In response to Santa's call for help, a group of friendly Aussie bush animals come to the rescue, gathering local ingredients for gingerbread dough to refuel the sleigh and deliver presents all around the world.

For those in Brisbane or planning a visit to the Sunshine State, you can stop by to see the show in Kings George Square, which plays every 15 minutes from 7:30pm to midnight from 6 to 24 December.
