The Lott supports sick children in New South Wales through Channel Nine Gold Telethon
We are proud to confirm that the Lott is the official broadcast partner for this year’s Channel Nine Gold Telethon in New South Wales.
The Gold Telethon, now celebrating its 10th year, supports the Sydney Children’s Hospital in New South Wales.
The eight-hour Telethon will be broadcast on Channel 9 on Monday 10 June 2019 and aims to raise $6 million for sick children.
The money raised will go a long way to help the Sydney Children’s Hospital Randwick’s work by funding life-saving medical research and providing an incredible array of patient and family support programs.
The Lott, through NSW Lotteries, has a long, proud history of supporting the New South Wales community by helping the delivery of key health and social infrastructure projects.
August 2019 marks 88 years since the very first state lottery draw was conducted in New South Wales. In 1931, at the height of the Great Depression, state lotteries were introduced to help alleviate the critical funding situation in the state’s hospitals.
Other state lottery games have been implemented over the years, and lottery revenue has been used to pay for landmark projects such as the Sydney Harbour Bridge and Sydney Opera House, as well as schools, hospitals, and other important community infrastructure.
As part of our continued to support to the community, we are very proud to be the broadcast partner of the Channel 9 Gold Telethon in its 10th year. We hope that our contribution is just the beginning of a successful day raising much-needed funds for sick children in New South Wales.
