Adding a credit card

You can only add a credit card at the time when depositing funds to your account, or when you are purchasing tickets.

To do so please log in with your member ID and password.

  • Click the account icon at the top right, click 'Your Account' and select the 'Deposit Funds' tab.
  • Click on the type of credit card that you’d like to use (only Visa and Master Card are accepted).
  • Enter the amount that you wish to deposit and then from the credit card drop-down menu select New Visa or New Master card.
  • Enter credit card details and click deposit.

Your credit card will be saved for future deposits.

Alternatively, you can add your credit card information from the Shopping Cart section of the ‘Buy Lotto’ screen.

Deleting a credit card

To delete existing credit card details please follow these steps:

  • Click the account icon at the top right, click 'Your Account' and select the 'Deposit Funds' tab.
  • Click on the type of credit card that you’d like to delete (Visa or Master Card).
  • Select the existing credit card from the drop down list.
  • Click the delete button.

If the website displays the message “Sorry, you cannot delete an untrusted credit card”, this will indicate that the credit card has not yet been confirmed. Only conformed credit cards can be deleted.

Confirming a credit card

You can confirm your credit card by following by these steps:

  • Click the account icon at the top right, click 'Your Account' and select either the “Deposit Funds” or “Withdraw funds” tab.
  • The following message will be displayed: “You have one or more credit cards which need to be confirmed. Please click here to review the status of your credit cards.”
  • Click on the 'click here' link in the message.
  • Credit cards that require confirmation will be listed.
  • Click the 'Initiate Verification' button to the right of the card details.
  • Type in your CVV/CCV (the 3 digit number on the back of the card, near where your signature is) and click 'Initiate'.

A small value transaction of less than $1.00 will then be debited from the selected credit card. This amount will be credited to your online account after the credit card confirmation has been completed.

You then need to log in to your online banking account and locate this amount in your credit card transaction list or on your credit card statement.

Please note that it may take up to an hour before the debit shows in your online banking.

Once you have the confirmation amount please follow these steps:

  • Return to thelott.com and log in.
  • Click the account icon at the top right, click 'Your Account' and select either the “Deposit Funds” or “Withdraw funds” tab.
  • The following message will be displayed: “Please click here to review the status of your credit cards”.
  • Click on the 'click here' link in the message.
  • Click on the Complete Verification button and enter the confirmation amount that was debited from your credit card. You will need to enter the amount in Australian dollars and cents, i.e. $X.XX.
  • Click Verify card.

Important! You have two attempts to enter the confirmation amount. If you enter an incorrect amount on two occasions your account will be suspended.

Updating credit card expiry date

To update or change an existing credit card expiry date please follow these steps:

  • Click the account icon at the top right, click 'Your Account' and select the 'Deposit Funds' tab.
  • Click on the type of credit card that you’d like to update (Visa or Master Card).
  • Select the credit card from the drop down list.
  • Click the Update button.
  • Select the new expiry date, click Save, and the new information will be recorded.

You will not be required to make a deposit for the details to be saved.

Maximum number of credit cards

You can have a maximum of three credit cards registered to your account. If you wish to add an additional credit card you will have to remove one of the currently registered credit cards first.

Only confirmed credit cards can be deleted. For details on how to confirm a credit card please see the information above.

Please note that you can add a maximum of three credit cards during a 180 day period. If you have exceeded this limit with a valid reason, please contact our support team on 131 868 for assistance.

Replacing a credit card

To replace the existing credit card with another credit card you will first need to delete the existing card (details here) and then add the new credit card (details here).

Only confirmed credit cards can be deleted.
