“He’s looking down at me today”: Late dad’s numbers lead to emotional $1 million win for Echuca woman
An Echuca woman has turned a sentimental tradition into a life-enhancing moment, winning $1 million in Weekday Windfall by continuing to play her late dad’s most cherished lottery numbers.
The northern Victorian held the only division one winning entry nationally in draw 4477, drawn Wednesday 4 December 2024. She looks forward to a neat $1 million.
The shocked woman could hardly believe her eyes this morning upon discovering her newfound millionaire status, gasping in disbelief and questioning if the incredible news was real.
“Oh my god! Is that true?” she gasped.
“Oh my god! Oh my god!
“I can’t believe this. This has totally changed my life.
“I’ve been playing my dad’s special numbers for 10 whole years. I just kept playing his numbers because he loved lotteries. He won a couple of thousands of dollars with his numbers but nothing like this.
“He started his numbers because he used to play football, and they were his special football numbers.
“I’d like to think that this win is because of him, and that he’s looking down at me today.
“Things like this don’t happen to me. I can’t believe this has happened.
“I’m blown away. I’ll definitely tell my mum and husband today. They will probably have the same reaction as me.
“I can’t thank you enough!”
With her division one prize arriving just in time for Christmas, the grateful woman revealed she plans to use her million-dollar win to support those around her.
“Wow! I’ll get the prize before Christmas! It’s a Christmas miracle!” she cheered.
“I’ll be able to help family while everyone’s doing it tough right now.
“I had a bit on today, but I think I’ll just keep it chill.”
Her winning marked System 7 entry was purchased via The Lott app – the official home of Australia’s lotteries.
