Oz Lotto's $70 Million Jackpot
Tuesday - 28 January 2025

The Oz Lotto winning numbers are in! There were no division one winning entries in tonight's Oz Lotto draw. However, there were a total of 1,171,843 prizes worth more than $26,537,538.20 in divisions two to seven. Make sure to check your tickets to see if you scored a win!

Powerball Winners

In 2024 there were 17 Oz Lotto division one wins across Australia that have collectively taken home $295 million in prize money. Of those wins, nine landed in New South Wales, three each in South Australia and Queensland, and two in Victoria.

The last time a $70 million Oz Lotto jackpot was won, the result had us all doing a double take! In March 2019, the epic prize was shared by three winning entries - but one lucky player held two of those entries.

The hardworking St Albans man was oblivious to his double division one bounty of more than $46.6 million, until we called to break the life-changing news.

The man had purchased one marked entry, and then bought a second entry using the same marked numbers because he couldn't quite remember if he had secured his ticket into the draw.

“I play every week. I have always marked my entries but I have never chosen the numbers on anything in particular. They weren’t special before, but they are now,” he laughed.

Amid the whirlwind revelation, the Victorian blue-collar worker said he would need to sit down and think of how he might use his double division one prize but retirement, a new home and a holiday were all on the cards.

A man from Tasmania held the third winning entry and took nine days to claim his prize!

Will we be seeing the $70 million Oz Lotto prize shared in Tuesday's draw, or will one entry take home the entire jackpot?

If you're looking for some quick fun, then we've got good news! Of the 17 division one winning entries in 2024, more than three quarters were QuickPick entries - where the numbers on the ticket were randomly generated.

However, we often hear of lottery winners who have won a major prize by marking their special numbers—in fact, a six-game QuickPick won one of Oz Lotto’s biggest $50 million jackpots in 2024. It will be interesting to see if the trend of winning QuickPicks changes in the coming draw!

Almost two thirds of the Oz Lotto division one winning entries in 2024 were relatively small entries of 26 games or less.

And don't forget, regardless of which entry you choose to play, each number has an equal chance of being drawn.

To grab an entry in Tuesday’s $70 million Oz Lotto draw you can head in-store to your local outlet, online or via The Lott app.

How to Win Powerball

Playing Oz Lotto is easy! To buy your entry simply choose your favourite seven numbers.

On Tuesday night, 9 balls are drawn at random from 47 balls numbered 1 to 47. The first seven balls drawn are the "winning numbers" and the last three numbers are the "supplementary numbers".

There are 7 winning prize divisions in Oz Lotto. Division one is the jackpot prize that can be won in a draw.

You can win a prize with as little as 3 winning numbers plus 1 supplementary number in a single game. To win division one in Oz Lotto (the Jackpot prize), your entry needs to match 7 numbers in a single game panel with the 7 winning numbers from that draw.

Oz Lotto draws close at 7.30pm (AEST) every Tuesday night.

What happens when you win Powerball

We're often asked 'What happens when you win Oz Lotto?'. We encourage all players to register their entry. That way, your prize is secure and we can contact you if you win division one and confirm the life-changing news.

When a winning ticket is registered, we follow a strict process to firstly confirm we're speaking to the rightful ticket holder. If you're a registered player, we'll have the details you’ve provided us as well as your entry details.

Once we’ve confirmed we're speaking to the rightful ticket holder, we break the big news!

If you bought a physical ticket in-store and think you've won the big one, give us a call on 131 868. You'll need to fill out a prize claim form, which can either be mailed to you, printed from our website, or picked up in person from a local outlet.

Once the form is filled out, it must be mailed back to us – along with the winning ticket – or dropped off in-person at a prize administration head office.

Along with a novelty cheque and some celebatory champagne, we send each of our division one winners a booklet that details things they may like to consider, such as speaking to a financial advisor and sharing the news with loved ones.

Could you be our next Oz Lotto winner?
