A Quakers Hill father found himself in the fast lane to fortune after discovering his ticket in support of Breast Cancer Network Australia had won him an incredible $250,000 prize pack in the Play For Purpose raffle.

The $250,000 First Prize Pack from Play For Purpose Raffle 24, drawn Friday 13 September 2024 included a Land Rover Defender 110 valued at $139,882, $100,000 worth of cashable gold bullion and $10,118 in gift vouchers.

The New South Welshman purchased his winning ticket in support of Breast Cancer Network Australia, a cause deeply personal to him as his mother is a breast cancer survivor.

“I’m shocked. I’m lost for words.” he said when we called to break the thrilling news straight after the draw.

“I chose to support Breast Cancer Network Australia because of my beloved mum.

“She had breast cancer which was treated a while ago. Now she helps others who are going through the same thing. It’s a cause that’s very close to my heart.

“It’s my first time purchasing a ticket in the Play For Purpose raffle. I liked that you could choose where your money goes.”

The Sydney sider was coincidentally having his car serviced the very same day he discovered he had won a brand-new Land Rover Defender.

“Wow, a Land Rover. It's funny timing. My car is in for a service today, and now I’ve won a new one! This is incredible,” he said.

“I’m still in shock. I’m at work right now. I'm not sure if I'll be able to focus for the rest of the day.

“I was talking to my wife the other day about doing a family trip next year. This will certainly come in handy. I can’t wait to tell her. I think she’ll be jumping up and down and screaming.

“The kids will be over the moon too. I’m not sure if they’ll believe me though!

“I’ve never won anything like this. You always dream of these moments and hope they happen, but you never really think they actually will.

“Thank you so much!”

Breast Cancer Network Australia CEO Kirsten Pilatti said she was ecstatic for the winner and thanked them for their support.

“We are absolutely thrilled that one of our wonderful supporters is the winner of this amazing prize,” she said.
