A South Yarra couple is riding a wave of excitement after scoring more than $1.6 million in the weekend’s TattsLotto draw, helping them anchor their dream of owning a brand-new boat.

The Melburnians held one of the three division one winning entries in TattsLotto draw 4523, drawn Saturday 23 November 2024 and looks forward to a total prize of $1,642,087.17.

So far in 2024, there have been seven major lottery wins in the Yarra Valley & Dandenong Ranges region, collectively taken home more than $6.26 million in prize money.

The dynamic duo shared they had no idea they were newly-minted millionaires until they checked their ticket this morning following a voicemail from us.

“That’s pretty wild! Unbelievable!” the winning husband said.

“I noticed I had a missed call and a voicemail, so I decided to have a listen. I thought something wasn’t right when you asked me to check my ticket and give me a call back.

“I opened up The Lott app and that’s when I saw the $1.6 million win. It’s incredible.

“I put a ticket on every week, hoping that one day I’ll win division one, and it’s happened!

“My husband is listening in and he’s speechless. It will be hard for both of us to concentrate at work today!

“We will buy a boat. We’ve wanted to own a boat for such a long time and now it’s possible!

“Thank you very much.”

Their winning 18-game QuickPick was purchased via The Lott app – the official home of Australia’s lotteries.
