“It’s an absolute miracle”: Beach house bound! Buninyong couple nets $2.5 million TattsLotto win for family and dream home
A Buninyong couple is gearing up to set their family up in style and snag their dream beach house after reeling in a $2.5 million win in the weekend’s TattsLotto draw.
The victorious Victorians held one of the four division one winning entries nationally in TattsLotto draw 4501, drawn Saturday 7 September 2024 and pocketed a total of $2.5 million.
The dynamic duo revealed they made the “mistake” of checking their ticket before bed on Sunday night, leading them to a sleepless night.
“Wow! You’re amazing! I can’t stop shaking,” the winning husband laughed.
“That’s pretty cool. I’m still in disbelief.
“I checked it last night and I couldn’t believe it. It was pretty hard to sleep after that. We only got a couple of hours.
“My wife who’s here with me now thought I was pranking her.
“We never win anything, no raffles, no meat trays, nothing! It’s an absolute miracle.
“It was super last minute. I picked up my ticket Saturday afternoon about 10 minutes before the newsagency was going to shut.
“This ticket was just a QuickPick. We used to use the same marked numbers until one time I didn’t buy a ticket, and they all came up. After that, I stopped using them.”
With more than $2.5 million about to boost their bank account this coming month, the kind-hearted couple shared their children were at the top of their minds.
“The most important thing is our family. We want to support our children as much as possible and set them up for the future,” he shared.
“We’ve worked really hard our whole lives, but to get this is just incredible.
“We wouldn’t mind buying a beach house either!”
The winning entry was purchased from Buninyong Newsagency, 501 Warrenheip Street, Buninyong.
Buninyong Newsagency owner Ron Delaland said the team were over the moon at sell a winning entry in the weekend’s TattsLotto draw.
“We’re very excited to hear we have finally sold a division one winning ticket. It was a big surprise when we got the news!” he said.
“We have had a few big prizes won within our outlet, but this is our first ever division one.
“Our customers are buzzing with excitement to hear our small town has had a major winner. It goes to show a big win is possible.
“Congratulations to our fortunate customer. We hope that winning this helps in ways that could not have been achievable without it.
“We hope that it brings great joy into their world and makes life a little easier.”
