A woman from Mornington Peninsula has honoured her late mother's tradition of playing TattsLotto, and in a heartwarming twist of fate, is now celebrating a $1.3 million win that she plans to share with her best friend.

The Melburnian woman held one of the four division one winning entries in TattsLotto draw 4533, drawn Saturday 28 December 2024. She looks forward to a total prize of $1,352,716.71.

The winning woman took a little longer to discover her newfound treasure as her ticket was unregistered which meant we had to wait for her to check her ticket and come forward.

“I’ve been blessed,” she exclaimed.

“I’m going to be a semi-millionaire because half of it will be shared with my best friend of six decades!

“Playing TattsLotto is something I’ve always done with my mother. She always looked forward to Saturday because she knew it was a chance for us to win division one together.

“I thought I’d continue the tradition when she passed away, and I’ve been playing with my best friend ever since.

“I told my best friend the following day after I found out, and it took her a couple of days to process the news. It’s come at the most perfect time for both of us.

“We haven’t celebrated yet, but we have plans to once everything settles down.

“Thank you very much!”

When asked how she planned to enjoy her share of the prize, the jubilant woman shared she couldn’t wait to secure a property with her husband.

“It’s come at a time where we’re going to try and secure a property. It’s something my husband and I have wanted to do for the longest time,” she shared.

“We can’t believe it.”

The woman who wishes to remain anonymous purchased her winning entry at Oakleigh Central Lotto, Kiosk 4, Oakleigh Central Shopping Centre, 39 Hanover Street, Oakleigh.
