Lottery lightning has struck Yeppoon once again with 10 locals sharing a $2.5 million prize from the weekend’s Saturday Gold Lotto draw.
The locals were part of a 10-share store syndicate that held one of the four division one winning entries nationally in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4501, drawn on Saturday 7 September 2024. Each division one winning entry scored $2.5 million.
In addition to winning division one, the syndicate’s winning System 9 entry also won division three 18 times, division four 45 times and division six 20 times, bolstering the group’s total win to $2,516,656.50.
Each member of the Yeppoon syndicate took home a prize worth $251,667.69.
So far this year, four major lottery wins have landed in Yeppoon, including division one wins for Set for Life and Saturday Gold Lotto, worth more than $8.3 million.
Shares into the winning syndicate were purchased at Yeppoon Central Lotto and News, Shop 28, Yeppoon Central Shopping Centre, Yeppoon.
Yeppoon Central Lotto and News owner Lisa White said she couldn’t believe another division one win had landed in her store.
“Just over a month ago, we sold a share into a division one winning syndicate, and now we’ve sold a division one winning syndicate,” she said.
“We’ve only been open for three years and feel our store is a lucky one. We’ve now sold three major prize-winning tickets, including these two syndicates and one top prize-winning Instant Scratch-Its.
“We’ve already received a message from one of the winners and they said it has changed their lives.
“We strive to change our customers’ lives, and we are so happy that we have done it for 10 of them.”
While some of the winning syndicate members held registered entries and have been notified of their win, some of the winning group held unregistered entries and may still be unaware of their good fortune.
