Berri man comes forward 12 days after draw as $1.3 million X Lotto winner
A Berri man has found winning a major lottery prize can come with some pulsating side effects, including a racing heart and long-lasting goosebumps, after winning more than $1.3 million in a recent Saturday X Lotto draw.
The South Australian resident held one of the four division one winning entries nationally in Saturday X Lotto draw 4533, drawn Saturday 28 December 2024. Each division one winning entry pocketed $1,352,707.86.
Amazingly, the mystery winner discovered his good fortune the day after the draw but took a little longer to come forward as he was so stunned by the revelation.
“Hell yeah!” he cheered.
“My heart is racing all over again. I checked my ticket the day after the draw, but I’ve just been letting it all sink in. I’ve been so shocked.
“When I checked my ticket on my computer and it came up that I’d scored division one, my mind went blank, and I thought it must have been a mistake.
“I turned off my computer, made a coffee, and tried again.
“Sure enough, it came up again. I still have goosebumps.
“It’s surreal. I really can’t emphasise how life-changing it is.
“I’ve already planned to invest the most of it and then I’ll keep some aside for other things.
“Thank you so much. I’ve got tears in my eyes now.”
His winning entry was purchased at Loxton Newsagency, 12 East Terrace, Loxton.
Loxton Newsagency owner Lesley Golding said it was wonderful news to hear her outlet’s mystery winner had come forward to claim their prize.
“It’s very exciting to hear our tight-knit Loxton community has had a division one win,” she said.
“Since owning the business, we’ve had many sizeable wins across a variety of games, including Keno and Instant Scratch-Its. It felt like we were due for another big win!
“This is something we hope for every time we sell a lottery ticket to someone. It’s fantastic when it happens; you really just need to be in it to have that chance to win.
“Congratulations to our fortunate winner. We wish you all the best with your prize.”
