Ryde woman’s $2.5 million Saturday Lotto win sparks dreams of European escape
A Ryde woman is ready to pack her bags and hop on the next flight to Europe after discovering she scored more than $2.5 million in the weekend’s Saturday Lotto draw.
The Sydney resident held one of the eight division one winning entries nationally in Saturday Lotto draw 4499, drawn on Saturday 31 August 2024. Each division one entry won $2.5 million.
The young woman was getting ready for a normal Monday at work when she received the life-changing phone call advising her she was now a multi-millionaire.
“Oh my gosh! Oh my gosh! Thank you so much!” she screamed.
“I need to sit down. Wow. I’m in shock.
“I can’t stop laughing!
“I was just getting ready for work. I’ll still go but I think I’ll be pretty spacey!
“I’m not sure how I’ll be able to sit still and focus for the whole day after receiving this news.
“I’m going to call my partner straight after this. I don’t think he’ll believe me.
“We both enjoy playing Lotto. We’ve only been playing these past couple of months.
“I always get a QuickPick. I like to just set and forget it!”
When asked how she planned to enjoy her newfound lottery loot, the winning woman shared she had always wanted to travel but never had the chance until now.
“If I’m honest, I’ve always wanted to travel but never had the opportunity,” she said.
“I’d love to do a trip around Europe!
“I can take some weeks off work or even a couple of months!”
Her winning 18-game QuickPick entry was purchased via The Lott app – the official home of Australia’s lotteries.
