With Aussies building their $100 million Powerball wish list, we’ve been working on our own – revealing where the big Powerball wins have landed over the past decade! As the excitement builds for this week’s draw, many might be wondering whether they could be the next big Powerball winner.

We’ll be curious to see if one of these winning locations live up to their reputation for the $100 million draw 1489 this Thursday 28 November.

Where the big wins have hit over the past decade

Over the past decade, Aussies have pocketed more than $4.78 billion in Powerball division one prize money – and that tally could soar once again.

We crunched the data from the past 10 years (1 November 2014 to 31 October 2024), which revealed 176 Powerball winners have been crowned with life-changing division one prizes!

We also looked at the states which enjoyed the most division one wins from the past decade. New South Wales took the lead with 66 winners, Victoria came in second at 43 and Queensland fell close behind with 38.

  • In Queensland, Brisbane’s inner suburbs saw six division one wins worth more than $209 million. 
  • In New South Wales, Western Sydney & Blue Mountains enjoyed 15 division one wins worth more than $367.4 million. 
  • In Victoria, the regions of Melbourne – South-EastCentral Highlands and GoldfieldsInner Melbourne and Melbourne – North each saw five division one wins (worth $153.6 million, $113.6 million, $90.5 million and $90 million, respectively). 
  • In South Australia, Southern Adelaide welcomed two division one winning entries worth than $15.25 million. 
  • In Tasmania, the town of Sorell sold the Apple Isle’s biggest Powerball division one prize of $30 million. 
  • In the Northern Territory, the town of Howard Springs sold the territory’s only Powerball division one prize. 
  • In Western Australia, the Goldfields-Esperance region sold three division one winning entries totalling more than $119.6 million
