Camden man prepares for life in the fast lane with $30 million Powerball windfall
A Camden man is preparing for life as a newly made multi-millionaire after bagging last night’s entire $30 million Powerball jackpot.
The New South Wales player held the only division one winning entry in last night’s Powerball draw 1404, drawn Thursday 13 April 2023.
In addition to taking home $30 million, he also takes the title of Australia’s second-biggest lottery winner of 2023 to date.
"We found out at 9pm last night, and then we were paranoid,” the winning man laughed when speaking to lottery officials this morning.
“We showed people and asked, “Is this a win?”. I was checking the ticket every freaking 10 minutes!
“I’m speechless! My mind is blown!”
"Trust me – this couldn't have gone to a better family. This is going to set so many people up. It's amazing.”
The winner shared he was also keen to use his $30 million prize to make at least one of his long-held dreams a reality.
"I’d love to get a Lamborghini. That's my dream car. I've wanted that car since I was a kid,” he said.
“I'm going to have a fantastic life!”
So far this year, six Powerball division one winners have pocketed more than $129.82 million. There have been two wins each in both New South Wales and South Australia, and one each in Victoria and Western Australia.
The winning man purchased his marked 36-game entry online via OzLotteries.com – one of The Lott’s authorised resellers.
