“I don’t know what to say!”: Stunned Sarina woman stammers in shock over $10 million Powerball prize
A grandmother from Sarina had a whirlwind of thoughts racing through her mind after discovering she won a whopping $10 million in Thursday night’s Powerball draw.
The Queenslander held the only division one winning entry nationally in Powerball draw 1469 drawn Thursday 11 July 2024. She takes home the entire $10 million jackpot.
The winning woman took a little longer to discover her newfound fortune after missing multiple calls from us earlier this morning.
“Oh my god! I am shaking!” she gasped.
“I can’t believe it. I don’t know what to say!
“I’m sort of shocked. What the hell!
“I saw the missed calls when I woke up this morning, but I thought it was a scam, so I decided to leave it.
“It wasn’t until I listened to the voicemail from you that I knew it wasn’t a scam and something was up.
“I rang The Lott straight away and here we are! You’re telling me that I’ve won $10 million! It’s crazy to hear that. I’m a multi-millionaire now – oh goodness!
“I nearly didn’t buy the ticket because I was in a rush on the way to work but I’m so glad I did. Wow, just wow!
“This is absolutely life-changing; so wonderful.”
With $10 million about to forever change the course of her life, the Mackay resident shared it would help her settle the mortgage in full, pay off ‘heaps’ of bills and buy a new set of wheels.
“Ten million dollars will really help myself and the family. I’ll be able to pay off my mortgage, heaps of bills and buy a brand-new car,” she revealed.
“I’d love to buy a Honda or Toyota with a bull bar because we really need one where we live!
“I’ll also slowly start to cut down my hours at work and eventually retire.
“It will give me more time to spend with my grandchildren.
“Thank you so much for the beautiful surprise.”
Her winning marked PowerHit entry was purchased at Freechoice Sarina, Shop 6, Sarina Village Shopping Centre, 20 Broad Sarina, Sarina.
