Records could shatter with this week’s $160 million Powerball draw
Australia could welcome its biggest-ever individual lottery winner this week if just one person takes home Powerball’s entire $160 million jackpot on Thursday night.
The $160 million Powerball draw, draw 1380 on Thursday 27 October 2022, has the biggest prize ever offered by an Australian lottery game. The previous record was a $150 million Powerball draw held in September 2019, where three individuals shared the jackpot.
Currently, Australia’s biggest individual lottery winner is a Sydney mum who scored a $107 million prize in January 2019. Only time will tell if a new winner will claim the title following Thursday night’s record-breaking draw.
Powerball has been known to change people’s lives in the most amazing ways possible and while we often hear the typically sought-after dream plans like buying a new house or car and paying off bills, a number of Powerball winners have told us about their unique and unusual ideas!
Some shared they treated themselves to home renovations, swimming pools, solar panels, and even Dyson vacuums.
In fact, one respondent put their prize towards a brand-new set of teeth, and another used their prize to treat themselves to a shiny pair of R.M Williams’ boots.
With $160 million up for grabs this week, we expect up to half of Aussie adults to have an entry into the draw.
While Australian lotteries have been operating for more than a century, there have only been nine draws that have offered a jackpot of $100 million or more, and this Thursday’s draw is the biggest of them all!
Our team will be on standby waiting to call any registered division winners should they score this historic prize..
Don’t miss your chance to win in Powerball draw 1380 on Thursday 27 October 2022. Entries can be purchased instore, via The Lott app or online.
Good luck!
