“Punch me so I know I’m not dreaming!”: Clarence Valley man stunned by $15 million Powerball payday
A Clarence Valley man has had his workday upended by the revelation he’s now $15 million richer from last night’s Powerball draw.
The New South Wales player held one of the two division one winning entries nationally in Powerball draw 1439 on Thursday 14 December 2023. Each division one winning entry scored $15 million.
In addition to winning division one, the winner’s PowerHit QuickPick entry also scored division two 19 times, bolstering his total windfall to $15,418,148.20.
“Holy moly!” the man exclaimed when we called to confirm his prize.
“I have a subscription into Powerball so I don’t miss getting a ticket into every draw! I’m so glad I did now!
“This is unbelievable!
“You’ve made my life.
“Oh man! If you could reach through the phone and punch me so I know I’m not dreaming, that would be great.
“Mate, I’m going to retire. I’ve been working hard, and I want to spend more time with the family.
“This is going to set my family up for the future.
“I’ve got to try and concentrate at work today, but I don’t know how!”
The man’s winning PowerHit QuickPick entry was purchased online at thelott.com – the official home of Australia’s lotteries.
