Bahrs Scrub woman flying into the weekend after ‘accidental entry’ bags $5 million Powerball prize
A Bahrs Scrub woman has had her Friday morning turned upside down after discovering she’d bagged more than $5 million in last night’s Powerball draw.
The Logan woman held the only division one winning entry in Powerball draw 1447, drawn Thursday 8 February 2024. She took home a total prize of $5,098,926.32.
“Oh my god! Oh my god! Oh my god!” the winning woman gasped when an official from The Lott called to confirm her windfall.
“I don’t even know what to say!
“What on earth has happened?
“I’m sorry, I’m just struggling to process this news.
“It was almost an accidental purchase! My husband normally buys our entries, but he was having a few issues, so I said, ‘Oh, I’ll just jump on and do it’.
“He figured it out and bought an entry, but by that stage, so had I!
“Oh my god, our mortgage is gone!
“This is going to change our life! We’ll have to start looking at overseas holidays, maybe new business ventures.
“I don’t know. We’ve got so many options!”
The woman’s winning 36-game QuickPick entry was purchased online at thelott.com – the official home of Australia’s lotteries.
