Aussies clamour for the chance to ring in 2023 with $100 million Powerball prize
Keen to set the scene for a spectacular 2023? Powerball has jackpotted to a massive $100 million for next Thursday's draw meaning you have the chance to start the new year as a multi-millionaire!
The jackpot has surged to $100 million after no one held a division one winning entry in tonight’s $50 million Powerball draw.
While no one took home the coveted $50 million prize, there were a total of 1,730,278 wins worth more than $31.1 million won in divisions two to nine in tonight’s Powerball draw. Among those winners were three division two winners who each took home a $287,740.40 prize.
Next week’s $100 million Powerball draw on Thursday 29 December 2022 offers the third biggest jackpot by any Australian lottery game in 2022.
Up to half of all Australian adults are expected to have an entry into the draw with the hopes of becoming the nation’s newest multi-millionaire before the year ends.
If just one person takes home next Thursday’s $100 million jackpot, they’ll immediately become the nation’s second-biggest lottery winner ever.
It’s been a winning year for Powerball. Not only has the game broken records in 2022 by offering Australia’s biggest-ever lottery prize, but it’s also welcomed more division one wins this year than during each of the past three years.
In fact, Powerball has welcomed 19 division one wins in 2022 that have collectively won more than $664 million in prize money.
New South Wales players have enjoyed a good run in 2022 – scoring 11 of the 19 Powerball division one wins to date - but anything could happen next Thursday!
There’s no doubt most Australians will be dreaming about how their new year plans might change if they scored the entire $100 million Powerball jackpot.
As this is the third biggest lottery jackpot we’ve seen in Australia this year, we’re expecting it to be busy in-store and online in the lead-up to next Thursday’s draw.
We encourage customers to not only get in early to purchase their entries, but also to register those entries, so their prizes are secure, and we can contact them directly after the draw with any life-changing news.
Tickets can be purchased at any licenced lottery outlet, online from thelott.com or via The Lott mobile app before 7.30pm AEST on Thursday 29 December 2022.
