Daughter’s prediction comes true! Summerland Point mother moved to tears by $1.2 million in Saturday Lotto
A Summerland Point woman was left shaking in disbelief after scoring more than $1.2 million in Saturday Lotto, just days after her daughter had joked about her mother winning big one day.
The Central Coast resident held one of the four division one winning entries nationally in Saturday Lotto draw 4511, drawn Saturday 12 October 2024. Each division one winning entry pocketed $1,290,825.58.
The cheery woman, buzzing with excitement when we called to confirm the news, admitted she hadn’t been able to relax since checking her ticket on Saturday night.
“I’m feeling better now that you’re ringing!” she said.
“Oh my god. You’ve made my whole life. My eyes are watering. I can’t even read my ticket.
“My daughter said to me just last week, “You’re so lucky mum. You’re going to win the Lotto one day,’ and I said to her ‘You have more chances of being hit by a bus!’.
“Thank you so much. I don’t know whether to laugh or cry!
“I checked my ticket Saturday night. I couldn’t stop saying, ‘Oh my god! Oh my god! Oh my god!’.
“I showed my other half, and he just looked at me and started laughing. I didn’t sleep that whole night. I kept looking at the screen and watching the confetti.
“I’m so glad it’s real. I know I could see it on my app, but I’ve been stressing that it was some sort of trick.
“My hands won’t stop shaking now.”
When asked how she planned to use her newfound fortune, the happy winner shared she’d be putting it straight towards her mortgage.
“It’s funny because we always talk about what we’d do if we won the lottery. In fact, I’ve been talking about it since I was 25!” she laughed.
“We’re definitely putting it towards the mortgage. It’s going to be a real help.
“Thank you! You have the best job in the world!
Her winning 36-game QuickPick entry was purchased via The Lott app – the official home of Australia’s lotteries.
