Perseverance has paid off for a Gordonvale man after his long-running ticket made him an overnight millionaire in last night’s Weekday Windfall draw. 
 
The Far North Queenslander held one of the two division one winning entries in Weekday Windfall draw 4426, drawn 7 August 2024 and looks forward to $1 million.
 
“Thank you. It’s unbelievable!” he laughed.

“I’ve been playing the same ticket for 20 years – every draw, every week.

“It’s just a little tradition I like to do.

“I’ll have to tell my wife and celebrate with her tonight; she’ll be over the moon.

“I keep looking at the ticket and I can’t believe it.

“It’s great news. I’m really glad I kept playing.”
 
When asked how he planned to enjoy his newly minted millionaire status, the winning man shared he’d use his prize to ‘enjoy life to the fullest’ and potentially go on some holidays.

“I’m honestly not too sure, but I’d like to enjoy life with the prize,” he said.

“Maybe I’ll go on some holidays!”
 
His winning marked 12-game entry was purchased at Cignall Gordonvale, 104 Gordonvale Street, Gordonvale.
