In case you missed it: Saturday Lotto and Oz Lotto cause chilling winning reactions
It’s been a week filled with shocking thrills and screams of joy as new Aussie lottery winners discovered their surprising wins just in time for Halloween.
Check out these wickedly good winning moments:
Saturday Lotto’s Superdraw makes 10 new multi-millionaires
Saturday Lotto’s $20 Million Superdraw shared the joy over the weekend with 10 division one winning entries each taking home a $2 million prize.
Four division one wins landed in New South Wales, while three went to Queensland, two to Western Australia, and one to Victoria. The winning reactions were full of excitement mixed with relief as we confirmed their wins.
“I checked my ticket over the weekend, but I’ve been so stressed thinking, ‘What if they made a mistake?’,” said one Saratoga woman.
“It’s lovely that 10 lucky people won this life-changing amount. I can’t believe that I was one of them and I beat the odds!”
$8 million Oz Lotto prize claimed by Melbourne dad
We were stoked to unite another Aussie with their multi-million-dollar prize this week. A mystery Victorian player won the entire $8 million Oz Lotto jackpot on Tuesday 22 October. However, it was a few days later when a Melbourne dad finally came forward to claim the prize.
“I only discovered it on Saturday morning!” the winning man revealed.
“I think I only had about three hours sleep on Saturday night – my brain wouldn’t stop ticking over the possibilities.”
“You have no idea what this means to me and my family. I want to give my kids a kickstart and want to see them set up for life.”
Weekday Windfall boosts retirement plans
While our Oz Lotto winner took a few days to discover his prize, a Lake Macquarie man saw his Weekday Windfall lottery win happen right in front of his eyes.
“I checked the ticket on Friday night when I saw the draw on TV,” he explained.
“I wrote the numbers down and when I checked my ticket I thought, ‘I’ve got three numbers. Hang on a minute, I’ve got four. Then five. And then, holy hell, all six numbers!’.
“I’ve been battling all my life, so it’s come at a good time. It will allow me to enjoy a comfortable retirement.”
Launceston woman’s lunch leads to Instant Scratch-Its win
The winning treats continued down in Tassie, with a Launceston woman scoring a $100,000 top prize on a $5 Cash Word Countries Instant Scratch-Its ticket. She was still giggling with excitement when she relayed how she discovered her prize.
“It’s actually quite funny… My husband and I were having lunch together eating frankfurts when we decided to scratch the ticket,” she said.
“We were brainstorming words to try on the ticket, and because we were eating frankfurts we thought we’d try the word. Turns out frankfurt was the word we were missing! We couldn’t believe it!
“My husband and I couldn’t stop laughing in shock. Frankfurts may be our favourite food now.”
We can’t wait to see what surprising discoveries next week brings. Perhaps we’ll be calling you with the news of a win. Good luck!
