A Hervey Bay man, already restless and struggling to sleep, found yet another reason to stay wide awake after checking his Weekday Windfall ticket and uncovering a $1 million win.
 
The Fraser Coast resident held the only division one winning entry nationally in Weekday Windfall, drawn Friday 18 October 2024 and looks forward to a neat $1 million.
 
The Queenslander confessed he'd been "stressing" all weekend, unable to shake the disbelief that he might actually be holding a winning ticket worth $1 million. 
 
“Woo-hoo! Thank you very much!” he laughed.

“I’ve been stressing all weekend. I kept thinking to myself, ‘Is it real? How do I receive the prize?’.
 
“I couldn’t sleep in the wee hours of the morning, and I decided to have a look at my Weekday Windfall ticket. 
 
“I couldn’t believe it. I think I’ve looked at the ticket about 100 times. 

“I woke my wife up shortly after that. It was 3.30am and she wasn’t having a bar of it. She didn’t believe it.

“I’m still in complete disbelief.”

With his bank account about to be boosted, the excited man shared he had already developed plans for his prize.
 
“I’ll probably put it towards a new car and pay off the mortgage,” he revealed.
 
“I’d love to buy a large ute. One that I can put a caravan on.

“What a shock to the system!”
