“Is this real?”: $1 million Weekday Windfall win leaves Hurstville man buzzing from more than just caffeine
A Hurstville man is still pinching himself after scoring $1 million in last night’s Weekday Windfall draw, made even sweeter by his modest $2.70 entry.
The Southern Sydney resident held one of the two division one winning entries nationally in Weekday Windfall draw 4465, drawn Wednesday 6 November 2024. Each entry scored a cool $1 million.
The winning man admitted he needed an extra dose of caffeine this morning after tossing and turning all night, unable to sleep since checking his ticket.
“I’ve been waiting for your call!” he said.
“I checked my ticket last night and I hardly slept as you can imagine.
“I can’t believe it. It’s completely unbelievable. Seriously, is this real? I don’t know!
“My wife didn’t believe me when I showed her. She thought we must’ve been reading it wrong. Now it’s confirmed, it’s even better.
“It’ll definitely feel more real when we see those extra zeros in our account.
“I’ve been playing these numbers for ages now and I only spend $2.70 on my ticket which is pretty incredible.”
When asked how he planned to use his million-dollar bounty, the winning man was too stunned to make any immediate decisions.
“I’m still in shock!” he laughed.
“One thing I know is we’re going straight to a financial advisor, then we can make some decisions.”
The man’s 4-game marked entry was purchased via The Lott app – the official home of Australia’s lotteries.
