We had 20/20 vision this week with all eyes on Lotto’s $20 million Superdraw Saturday and a $20 million Powerball jackpot. But with the multi-million-dollar prizes flying out the door so fast, things quickly became a blur!

“Crikey!”: News of $20 million Powerball win sends Cairns man’s mind running wild

A mineral worker from far north Queensland struck gold last night when he scored the entire $20 million Powerball Jackpot.

We called the Cairns man this morning to break the life-changing news.

“Oh sh*t!” he screamed with excitement.

“Oh Jesus Christ! Crikey!

“Has one of my friends put you up to this?”

The stoked bloke revealed he had a few ideas for how he’d use his Powerball windfall.

“I’m going to live the great Australian dream and buy myself a big property and live off the grid.

“As soon as I get off the phone, I’m calling my parents and telling them they’ll be set up for the rest of their lives!"

The Queensland man is the eleventh Powerball division one winner this year.

Thanks, mum! Murgon man receives $2 million Saturday Gold Lotto gift

Living up to its name, Lotto’s Superdraw Saturday delivered 10 winning entries a super prize of  $2 million each.

One of our favourite winning stories came from a Murgon man who discovered his multi-million-dollar news three days after the draw.

“My mum bought me the ticket as a thank you gift because I’ve been helping her out with a few things,” he explained in shock.

“I don’t know how I’m ever going to thank her for this!”

Our other Superdraw winners were in similar states of disbelief — not knowing whether to laugh, cry, or hang up on us as we confirmed their winning news. Check out their stories here.

A Cabramatta student was one of three winners to become a millionaire in this week’s Wednesday Lotto draw. As if that wasn’t already cause for celebration, the thrilled woman revealed she had won on her birthday!

“Last night I was having dinner with my boyfriend, and he was joking that if he won Powerball this week, he’d treat me to the best birthday weekend ever,” she told us.

“He reminded me I should check my Lotto ticket and so I did. I couldn’t believe it when I saw all my numbers match the winning numbers.”

“I’ll remember this day for my entire lifetime!”

No more money box for Devonport woman after $50,000 Instant Scratch-Its win

Among a week of big prizes, a Devonport woman revealed her Instant-Scratch-Its top prize will be too big to fit in her money jar!

“We’re so happy!” she exclaimed when we confirmed her prize. “When I saw that I had won $50,000 I screamed so loudly. I was jumping up and down on the bed!

“Whatever we win, if it is $5 or $20, I cash it in and put the money in a money jar.

“My money jar won’t be big enough to fit this win in!”

South Australian families receive a boost with $50,000 donation to the Women’s and Children’s Hospital Foundation

Back on the mainland, the Women’s and Children’s Hospital Foundation also received a $50,000 boost this week. They won’t need a money jar however, as the donation from The Lott by SA Lotteries will go straight towards their amazing health services.

The Foundation is on a mission to ensure that South Australian children and their families have access to the very best medical care, facilities and support at a time when they need it most. We’re proud to help them in their mission with this donation.
