$2.5 million TattsLotto surprise sparks cleaning spree for Drouin woman
A Drouin woman immediately jumped into an impromptu late-night cleaning session after discovering she’d scored more than $2.5 million in the weekend’s TattsLotto draw.
The West Gippsland resident held one of the two division one winning entries in Tatts Lotto draw 4475, drawn Saturday 8 June 2024. Each entry took home $2,504,803.55.
The gleeful woman relayed how she discovered the win when we called to confirm the life-changing news.
“Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!” she cheered.
“I checked my ticket last night when I woke up randomly at 2am and couldn’t go back to sleep.
“I definitely couldn’t get to sleep after that! I had to wait for my husband to wake up and it was killing me.
“I started doing all this ironing and cleaning while I waited. The whole time I was thinking ‘What should I say?’.
“When he finally woke up, I said ‘You need to come out and sit down please’. He was so confused.
“He started crying and I can’t tell you some of the other words he used.
“It’s something you always dream of but never imagine to really happen to you.”
With a multi-million dollar win about to boost her bank account, the merry mother had already begun dreaming how she’d use her multi-million-dollar prize.
“We’ve thought about it a lot already!” she laughed.
“There’s lots of things we’d like to do but helping the kids is a big one for us.
“We’d also like to be smart and invest it for the future.
“We did have a little celebration last night with a couple of quiet drinks while watching televsion.”
The marked System 7 entry was purchased at Drouin Lotto & Cards, Shop 3, 72 Young Street, Drouin.
Drouin Lotto & Cards owner Raj Joshi said himself and the team were buzzing with excitement and were overjoyed to be a part of someone’s life-changing moment.
“We're thrilled to have played a part in this incredible milestone and wish the winner all the best for the future,” he said.
“It's a reminder that every ticket holds the potential for magic and we're honored to be part of that journey.
"It's going to be a week of festivities and excitement for us and the winner!"
