“I’ve been shaking for days”: Jimboomba dad urges lottery officials to keep emergency number handy during winning phone call
A Jimboomba dad has jokingly warned lottery officials to have triple zero ready in case he needed an ambulance while having his $5 million Saturday Gold Lotto win confirmed. The Logan resident held one of the four division one winning entries in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4467, drawn Saturday 11 May 2024 and looks forward to a total division one prize of $5 million. The winning entry was unregistered which meant we had no way of contacting the ticketholder and had to wait for them to check their ticket and come forward. “I can’t stop shaking! I’ve been shaking for three days!” he laughed. “You’ll need to have an ambulance on standby. I’m serious, hurry up! “I haven’t slept for three days. All of our family are mentally gone. “It’s funny, I went to the newsagency on the weekend, and I saw there were about 15 people in the queue, and I thought, ‘Bugger this! I’ll go get my mum a Mother’s Day present’. “I went and bought the Mother’s Day present and came back to buy a QuickPick. If I hadn’t left and came back, maybe those numbers wouldn’t have been drawn for me! It’s unbelievable. “Thank you for giving me the best phone call I’ve ever had in my life.” Despite being able to fathom the enormity of his newfound fortune, the Queenslander knew he would use it to help his adult children and invest into the future. “I’m going to take it all out in cash and put it through the washing machine - just kidding. I’ll help my kids out and I’ll invest it too,’ he laughed. “We haven’t celebrated yet but will in the next week or so. I might take the adult kids to Maccas – get them a Happy Meal! “But for now, get the vanilla slice and a coffee ready at the prize payments office! “Thank you so much.” His winning entry was purchased at Cusack Lane News and Tobacconist, Shop 10, Jimboomba Junction Shopping Cent, 665-687 Cusack Lane, Jimboomba. |
