A Rockhampton man says he now has the freedom to make his dreams come true after receiving a life-changing phone call this afternoon, informing him he’d just won $200,000 in today’s Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot draw.

The central Queensland resident won the guaranteed 1st Prize of $200,000 in Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot draw 1216, drawn Thursday 7 February 2019.

When we called the unassuming winner this afternoon to break the life-changing news, they were met with stunned silence.

When the winner finally spoke, he admitted he was in a state of shock.

“Is this a joke?” he eventually managed.

“I’ve won $200,000?

“Oh my god. My heart is absolutely pounding.

“I’m shaking! Lucky I didn’t win the bloody big jackpot or I’d be on the floor!

“Thank you so much! I’m still shaking so much.”

The central Queensland resident said he’d been playing Lucky Lotteries regularly, watching the jackpot soar and knew exactly how he’d spend his windfall.

“Yesterday I was thinking I really wouldn’t mind winning, and now today this has happened. I honestly really can’t believe it!” he exclaimed.

“I’ve been playing a lot lately because of that massive $40 million jackpot.

“You don’t see that very often do you? It’s quite amazing!

“I’ve been thinking of taking a trip to England, I would love to do that!

“This is such a great bonus!

“It’s enough to make my dreams come true, that’s for sure!”

The winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his winning entry of one random number at Keppel Bay News, Shop 3-4, Keppel Bay Plaza Shopping Centre, 64 James Street, Yeppoon.

Keppel Bay News employee Matilda Widdowson said she was thrilled to hear their outlet had sold a 1st Prize winning entry.

“We haven’t sold a 1st Prize winning entry in this store before so we really couldn’t be more excited!” she exclaimed.

“We’re really hoping we can follow through with the $40 million Mega Jackpot, it would be incredible to see that go to one of our regular customers!”
