Kempsey man says goodbye to holiday blues with $200,000 lottery loot
While many dread coming home from a holiday, a Kempsey man has been welcomed home in the best way imaginable after scoring $200,000 in a recent Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot draw.
The Mid North Coast resident scored the 1st Prize of $200,000 in Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot draw 1604, drawn Tuesday 14 February 2023.
The winning entry was unregistered which meant we had no way of contacting the ticketholder to reveal the winning news and had to wait for the winner to come forward to claim their prize.
“Thank you very much!” the winner cheered when we confirmed his windfall this morning.
“I discovered the win this morning when I visited my local newsagency.
“I’ve only came back from a holiday.
“I was gone for a few weeks, so I haven’t been able to check my lottery tickets!
“I didn’t expect to win this!
“This is a big surprise.”
With $200,000 about to boost his bank account, the New South Welshman plans to leave it untouched for a rainy day.
“I’ll put it in the bank and leave it for now!” he said.
“I’m a very quiet man, so I’ll celebrate the win in private.”
His winning entry of two consecutive numbers was purchased at Kempsey Newsagency, 17 Smith Street, Kempsey.
Kempsey Newsagency owner Kevin Campbell said the 1st Prize win was a life-changing moment for the winner, the community and his outlet.
“It’s great news for our outlet and local community! We couldn’t be happier to have sold a 1st Prize winning entry to a regular customer,” he said.
“We’ve decorated the store to let of our customers know that we’ve sold a major prize as it’s such wonderful news.
“We seem to be on a winning streak at the moment as we sold a second prize in Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot a week before selling this major prize.
“Congratulations to the winning man and his family. We wish him all the best with his windfall!”
