Rutherford man scores $100,000 in Lucky Lotteries windfall after years of perseverance
A Rutherford man who always knew he would one win a major lottery prize has been proven right after he scored $100,000 in today’s Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot draw.
The Hunter Region player won the 1st Prize of $100,000 in Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot draw 10481, drawn Monday 2 August 2021.
Straight after the draw, we called the winner, who was left speechless by the revelation of his windfall.
“Oh my god! That’s pretty cool!” he exclaimed.
“I’ve been purchasing an entry into Lucky Lotteries since I was young, and now I’m entering my seventies. I’ve been waiting for this moment my whole life.
“I always told my wife, ‘I’m going to win the lottery one day’.
“My wife is very happy, as you can hear she is screaming in the background!
“This is very good news for a Monday. I’m starting the week off right.
“How exciting!”
The cheerful winner declared he already knew what he would do with his surprise prize.
“I am going to probably spend the prize money on a caravan that I’ve been wanting to purchase for a while,” he shared.
“I will also probably buy a couple of more model railways.
“My wife and I will celebrate with a very nice dinner.”
The winning entry was purchased at Maitland West End Newsagency, Shop 4, 493 High Street, Maitland.
Maitland West End Newsagency owner Sandeep Kumar Konga said he was over the moon with the news as the outlet hadn’t sold a major lottery prize since it opened.
“We’re very happy! The business has been running for 20 years, and we hadn’t sold a major lottery prize until now,” he revealed.
“We hope this is the start of a winning streak!
“It’s a challenging time for everyone, and by selling a major lottery prize, we feel happy that we can bring some joy into someone’s life.
