While giving his car a routine clean, a Wollongong man unearthed a hidden treasure in his glove box - a winning Lucky Lotteries ticket worth $100,000.

The Illawarra player held the 1st Prize winning entry in Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot draw 10871, drawn Monday 2 September 2024, and pocketed a neat $100,000.

The gobsmacked man confessed the prize was a ‘game-changer’ and looked forward to sharing the news with his wife and children, who he didn’t think would believe him.

“I can’t believe it!” the winning man cheered.

“I was cleaning my car the other day and decided to clear out my glovebox.

“When I was digging through, I found a few tickets I’d purchased, so I thought I should go to the newsagent and get them checked.

“As it turns out, I was holding a golden ticket this whole time!

“It feels too crazy to be real!

“I’m not sure my wife will believe me when I tell her the news.

“This will clear our mortgage. It’s a game-changer!

“I need to go and have a cup of coffee and hopefully it sinks in.”

The man’s winning entry was purchased at Keira Street Newsagency, Shop 6, 175 Keira Street, Wollongong.

Keira Street Newsagency owner Yizheng Cai said he was surprised to hear another customer had held a 1st Prize winning ticket from his outlet.
