Today marks World Kindness Day, a celebration of community goodwill. It encourages acts of warmth, generosity, and thoughtfulness and harnesses the strength of a positive outlook.

Kath Koschel, founder of the Kindness Factory, personally experienced the transformative power of kindness during some of her most challenging times—recovering from two severe back injuries and coping with personal loss. Her journey inspired her to establish what has grown into an international nonprofit organisation that champions simple acts of kindness.

This year, for the fourth consecutive year, The Lott is proud to contribute to their mission of putting the kind in humankind with a $50,000 donation.

The Kindness Factory is dedicated to fostering a kinder, better world by supporting important research, implementing practical, evidence-based educational programs, and promoting positive mental health practices through their Kindness Curriculum. This program is now being utilised by over 3,500 schools across Australia, the USA, and the UK.

Founder of Kindness Factory, Kath Koschel, is grateful for the support of The Lott and what the donation enables them to do.

"Put simply, we couldn't do what we do at Kindness Factory without the support of The Lott,” she said.

“We are into our third year of partnership together and we have recorded over 5 million acts of kindness during that time.

“Lives have been changed, and most importantly, the profound impact of kindness has been felt by many in Australia who need it most."

The Lott Partnerships Manager, Liz McPherson, was pleased to make one small act on behalf of our customers, retailers and staff.

“Not everyone knows that kindness is scientifically grounded, and this principle drives the initiatives at the Kindness Factory,” she shared.

“A smile, simple yet powerful, can profoundly affect someone's day in our community.

“We are delighted to make this donation to help the Kindness Factory continue to foster smiles and positive interactions within our community.”
