A Bulleen man is thanking his lucky stars that he resisted changing the lottery numbers he’s used for 25 years after they finally delivered $1 million in Weekday Windfall.
 
The Melburnian held the only division one winning entry nationally in Weekday Windfall draw 4483, drawn Wednesday 18 December 2024 and looks forward to $1 million.
 
The newly-crowned millionaire took a little longer to uncover his incredible win, as outdated contact details with The Lott Members Club left us waiting for him to check his ticket and claim his prize.
 
“I actually didn’t know for quite some time!” he laughed.
 
“I went to the local Bulleen newsagency to check my ticket, and the team member said it was a winning one, so I asked to use the winnings to purchase the following week's entry.
 
“The team member then said I couldn’t use the winnings because he couldn’t pay out the prize in-store.

“I asked what he could pay out in-store and he replied with ‘$5000’. At this point I thought we had maybe just five numbers and the supplementary.

“He then showed me the winning numbers from the draw, and I saw all of the six numbers that I’ve been playing for 25 years show up.

“The numbers I’ve been playing for 25 years are all birthdates, and I believe the last two numbers, which were 40 and 45, were picked when I was 40 years old at the time.

“You wouldn’t believe it, though – I was so close to changing the numbers, but I thought I’d wait until 2025 to change them.

“I said to my mum, ‘These numbers aren’t working for me. I think it might be time to change them’.
 
“I guess the universe heard me.”
 
When asked how he anticipated to enjoy $1 million, the generous son shared he would help his beloved mum find a place to call home.
 
“The money is going to my mum. She’s going to buy a place after renting for so many years,” he exclaimed.
 
“This really brightens our year. Thank you so much.”
 
His winning marked 18-game entry was purchased at Bulleen Plaza Newsagency, Shop 21B Bulleen Plaza, 79-109 Manningham Road, Bulleen.
 
Bulleen Plaza Newsagency owner Jagg Lelon said he was stoked for the division one winner and glad to hear they’ve now discovered their million-dollar prize.
 
“It’s such great timing for the winner with Christmas right around the corner, and there’s no doubt it will bring more customers into our store,” he said.
 
“We’ve been letting everyone know that we’ve sold another division one winning entry. We’ve sold about five division one winning entries in the last two years, and one was a store syndicate of 20 shares!

“We know the division one winner is over the moon with their prize, and we really hope they enjoy their win. Congratulations!” 
 
The winning numbers in Weekday Windfall draw 4483 on Wednesday 18 December 2024 were 20, 45, 7, 15, 14 and 31, while the supplementary numbers were 42 and 4.
