Australia’s second biggest lottery prize won: Chatswood dad pockets $96.04 million
A Chatswood dad is planning an ‘outrageous holiday’ after today discovering he is now over $96 million richer from winning the Jackpot Prize in Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot.
The stunned man scored the Jackpot Prize in Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot draw 1447, drawn Tuesday 27 August 2019 and takes home the entire jackpot prize of $96,040,000.
The professional office worker received the life-changing news he scored the multi-million dollar windfall during the middle of his workday and let off a few choice expletives when he heard the news.
“You’re sh*ting me!” he exclaimed after a moment of stunned silence.
“I can only say holy sh*t.
“Jesus Christ! I’m at work at the moment so I wasn’t expecting this phone call.
“I’m shaking. I’m just waiting for someone to tell me I’m being punked.”
The Sydney man is the second-biggest individual lottery winner in Australian history.
The current Australian record for the biggest individual lottery win was set in January this year when a Sydney woman scored an eye-watering $107.5 million Powerball prize.
When asked how it felt to be Australia’s newest multi-millionaire, the overwhelmed winner confessed he was completely floored by the news.
“Stunned. That’s the only word I can think of to describe how I am feeling right now,” he admitted.
“I just really don’t know what to say.
“I know a number of people who are going to be extremely happy when I tell them I have won.
“I can’t wait to call my wife and tell her I have won. I don’t think she’ll believe me. I’m a bit of a prankster so she’ll probably think I’m pulling a fast one.”
When asked how he planned to enjoy his Lucky Lotteries windfall, the generous and caring father immediately thought of his family.
“This is going to change my life immeasurably,” he declared.
“I’m going to look after my kids and make sure they are set up for the future.
“Then I am going to find the most outrageous holiday I can think of to take myself on.
“I’ve always wanted to travel so maybe I’ll work my way around the world.
“It’s unlikely that I am going to finish the day out at work. I’m pretty sure I’ll quit. My endless lunch-break starts now!”
