Five days after the winning numbers were drawn, a Cobram man was today floored by the revelation he scored $2 million in the weekend's TattsLotto draw.

The Victorian's entry was one of 10 division one winning entries nationally in TattsLotto draw 4099, drawn Saturday 31 October 2020. Each entry won a division one prize of $2 million.

While the winning entry was registered to a Tatts Card, the winner's contact details were not up to date, so we had no way of breaking the life-changing news to the winner.

Speaking to our team this morning, the winner explained he only checked his ticket at home this morning.

"I only check my tickets once a week," he laughed.

"I had no idea. I can't believe it.

"It’s better than a poke in the eye with a stick, that’s for sure!”

The down-to-earth bloke admitted the winning revelation left him with only had one firm plan in his mind at this stage.

“I might have a stubby tonight,” he declared.

“It just hasn’t sunk in yet.  Two million dollars!  I’ll wake up tomorrow and think ‘is this real?’.”

The winning entry was purchased at Cobram Lotto, 34 Punt Road, Cobram. Cobram Lotto owner Dean Clydesdale said he was thrilled to hear a Cobram local had claimed the prize.

“What fantastic news! It just feels great to know it’s been won by a local to the area,” he said.

“We’ve sold 16 division one winning entries over the years, and it’s just so exciting every time it happens.

“This one is particularly exciting as it is our biggest win, so we are very happy our winner has discovered he is a multi-millionaire.

“We hope he enjoys his celebratory stubby tonight and we wish him all the best with his prize!”
