Road to riches! Tears of joy flows as Kangaroo Flat man pulls over to process $620,000 TattsLotto triumph
A Kangaroo Flat father has found himself on the brink of tears after discovering his TattsLotto ticket in the weekend’s draw landed him a lavish $620,000 win.
The Bendigo resident held one of the eight division one winning entries in TattsLotto draw 4449, drawn Saturday 9 March 2024 and takes home a total prize of $620,369.07.
While the winning entry was registered to a Tatts Player Card, the contact details weren’t up to date, and lottery officials had to wait for the ticketholder to check his ticket and come forward.
The division one winner finally called into The Lott after receiving a letter in the mail encouraging him to check his tickets and call in.
“I’m ecstatic!” he cheered.
“I didn’t know that I had won until this morning! I received a letter in the mail that told me to check my TattsLotto ticket and my heart started to beat out of my chest.
“I can’t believe it. You have no idea how much this means to me!
“I’m almost in tears. I’ve got to pull over.
‘I’m on an open road, so I have to find somewhere to pull over – otherwise I won’t be able to see from the tears!
“Thankfully I’ve got today off, but I think I’ll take tomorrow off as well to digest!
“I’ve already told my eldest and she keeps ringing me to see if it’s even real.”
With an adventurous gleam in his eye, the Victorian man eagerly envisions himself traversing the vibrant streets of Thailand with some of his lottery loot.
“I’m going on holiday very soon!” he laughed.
“I won’t spend it all on the holiday of course. I’ll be sharing with my four kids, buy a new car and possibly a land to put a new house on.
“So exciting. Thank you so much!”
His winning marked 6-game entry was purchased at Lansell Lucky Lotto & News, Kiosk K6 Lansell Square, 267 High Street, Kangaroo Flat.
Lansell Lucky Lotto & News owner Yomi Shah said him and his team are really happy to have sold a division one winning entry and they couldn’t stop talking about the winning news on Sunday morning.
“This is our first division one winning entry since we took over the ownership for Lansell Lucky Lotto and News, so it’s big milestone for us!” he said.
