“It’s been a long time coming”: Ballarat man’s mind boggles at $1.3 million TattsLotto win
A Ballarat man has confessed it’s been difficult to concentrate on one task at work let alone what colleagues say to him after discovering he’d bagged more than $1.3 million in the weekend’s TattsLotto draw.
The Victorian player held one of the four division one winning entries in TattsLotto draw 4411 drawn Saturday 28 October 2023 and took home a total prize of $1,311,960.34.
“Jeez, this just feels incredible mate!” said the elated winner when we called to confirm his windfall.
“It’s been a long time coming. I can say that for certain.
“I was simply shopping with my wife over the weekend and ducked into an outlet to grab an entry.
“We’d almost completely forgotten about it until my wife told me you guys were looking for a division one winner in the area.
“I thought, ‘well that’s a coincidence,’ but knowing our luck I didn’t give us any hope of being the mystery winners.
“Turns out, I was pretty wrong about that!
“I checked my ticket at work yesterday and as soon as I realised what we’d won, everything else just sort of melted around me.
“It was tough to concentrate on anything!
“How amazing though? I can’t wait to tell my kids and grandchildren, this win is going to mean so much to them and I’m going to be able to share the wealth and hopefully make their lives easier too.
“Thank you so much for confirming this, what a ride!”
The winning entry was purchased at Midvale News Post & Lotto team, Shop 1, Midvale Shopping Centre, 1174 Geelong Road, Mount Clear.
Midvale News Post & Lotto team owner Brian McKinnis said they were very excited to have sold their first division one winning entry in seven years.
“It’s great news! We’re so happy to have helped chang the lives of one of our customers and we’re over the moon at the fact that we’ve sold another division one winning entry,” he said.
“We’ve started to decorate the store with balloons and posters, and of course letting all of our customers know that we sold a division one winning entry worth $1.3 million.
“This is our first division one winning entry that we’ve sold in the span of seven years and we’re so excited for the mystery winner.
“We want to wish our winner the best of luck with the future and hope they really enjoy this.”
