“How did we get so lucky”: Sale couple to share stunning seven-figure TattsLotto sum with sons and grandkids
A generous Sale couple, with hearts as rich as their newfound fortune, vowed to devote their million-dollar TattsLotto win entirely to their sons and grandkids.
The Gippsland locals held one of the five division one winning entries nationally in TattsLotto draw 4487, drawn Saturday 20 July 2024. They take home a total division one prize of $1,012,896.39.
So far in 2024, there have been nine division one winning entries in the Gippsland region that have collectively taken home more than $9.32 million in prize money.
The winning wife checked her ticket in the early hours of Sunday morning and was left completely dumbfounded by the revelation they were newly made millionaires.
“Oh my god! What a great surprise!” she cheered.
“That’s unreal. My god!
“I checked the ticket on Sunday morning, and I was left gobsmacked. I’ve just been thinking this entire time, ‘How did we get so lucky?’.
“Remarkably, I’ve been playing the same numbers for 40 to 45 years and I don’t know why I chose them over four decades ago, but I’m glad I persisted. I’ve never missed a week!
“It’s just something we would never expect. We never anticipated to be one of the lucky winners.
“We’re going to take our time and process the win. We haven’t told our family yet but will soon.
“Our boys have families of their own and we would love to surprise them with a big family holiday to Queensland to visit the theme parks!
“We would love to help them as well. Family always comes first!
“Thank you so much for making our year.”
Their marked 12-game entry was purchased at Sale Centre Lotto, Shop 40, Gippsland Centre, 37-39 Cunningham Street, Sale.
Sale Centre Lotto team said they were stoked to have helped change the lives of one of their locals and wished them all the best with their future endeavours.
