Grafton trio green with envy no longer after $1.7 million Saturday Lotto windfall
A trio of Grafton friends have quickly struck gold, winning $1.7 million in the weekend’s Saturday Lotto draw only weeks after they started playing together.
The New South Wales resident private syndicate held one of the three division one winning entries in Saturday Lotto draw 4413, drawn Saturday 4 November 2023, and took home $1,748,759.74.
When we confirmed their windfall, the winning syndicate leader shared that he, his wife and their friend had only started their private syndicate a few weeks ago after being envious of other winners’ stories.
“I just thought, ‘if all these other people are winning, why can’t I?’,” the winning man laughed.
“Now everyone will start to think it’s easy! We only started our private syndicate about five weeks ago.
“This is incredible, isn’t it?.
“We don’t play every day or even every week by any means. We all just decide which games we’ll play together.
“It’s going to make our lives so much easier! This win is life changing.
“We’ll be firing up the campervan and taking a holiday to celebrate. We’re not sure where we’re heading but who cares!
“I’ve also been dreaming about a brand new car so I think that will be a top priority too!
“Thank you so much, we’re all over the moon.”
Their winning entry was purchased at Grafton Mall News, Shop 11 Grafton Mall, Corner of King and Pound Street, Grafton.
Grafton Mall News owner Allan Worland said the team was over the moon for their winning customers.
“We were so excited when we read the message on the terminal Sunday morning! It's a wonderful feeling to know you've sold a customer a division one prize,” he said.
“We’re going to make sure every one of our customers is aware that we’re a winning outlet.
“It’s been a couple of years since we sold a major prize-winning entry so we’re stoked.
“Congratulations to our winner and we wish them all the best. We hope the win brings them great happiness and allows them the luxury of making all of their dreams come true.”
