Wangaratta couple’s change of numbers delivers $623,000 TattsLotto win
A Wangaratta couple are thanking their lucky stars after a simple change to their favourite numbers they’ve been playing for years led them to a $623,000 TattsLotto win.
The northeast Victorian held one of the eight division one winning entries in TattsLotto draw 4449, drawn Saturday 9 March 2024 and took home a total prize of $623,926.77.
The winning husband was watching the television on Saturday night when the TattsLotto draw results came up on the screen and flipped his world upside down.
“Thank you!” he exclaimed.
“I was watching TV on Saturday night, and it was close to 11pm when the TattsLotto results came up.
“I thought to myself, ‘We’ve got those six numbers!’.
“I was playing the same set of numbers for 18 years, but I decided to change them up last year when there was a $100 million Powerball draw.
“These numbers consist of birth dates – those of our parents and sons.
“There was a lot of adrenaline when we realised we had won $620,000!
“We didn’t really have a chance to celebrate but we already had a few drinks on Saturday night – perfect timing!”
With more than $620,000 opening the doors to many possibilities, the long-time player shared he would put the prize towards a brand-new home.
“We’ve been looking at buying a new home and this will come in very handy,” he revealed.
His winning marked System 7 entry was purchased at Wangaratta Lotto Card & Tobacconist, 69 Reid Street, Wangaratta.
The Wangaratta Lotto owners Damian and Sara D’Agostino said it was amazing to have sold another division one winning entry.
“Another division one? That’s amazing news!” Damian said.
“Our customers will be very excited as we’ve only just sold a division one winning entry in November 2023, and we also sold a $250,000 top prize on an Instant Scratch-Its ticket!
“This brings our division one tally to 36 entries sold since 1982! It’s so wonderful knowing that we’ve helped many families over the years with division one winning entries.
“A big congratulations to the winning couple and we thank them for supporting us! We hope to see you again soon.”
